May 30 Farm Hour

For this evenings Farm Hour I have a couple of interviews to play from around the countryside.   Last week I was in Stamford to speak with Jim Eklund about the new slaughter house he is building to accommodate both organic and conventional livestock.    Also, a short interview with Jim McFadden of Macfaddens and Sons in Sharon Springs where Jim’s business includes a variety of services to the agriculture community including auctions,  parts, farm and construction equipment and antique equipment.    AND later in the program Michelle Monroe will be calling in from Saint Albans Vermont.  Michelle is a Staff Writer for the Saint Albans Messenger and has been following the anti trust lawsuit against Dean Foods, Dairy Marketing Services andDairy Farmers of America.  Dairy Farmers of America is the largest dairy cooperative in the US representing 18000 farmers in 48 states created in 1998 by the merger of 4 dairy cooperatives.
