Nicci Cagan,  Director of From the Ground Up working the frontlines of the local food movement in upstate NY called in to tell us all about the upcoming School Food Summit at the Roundout Valley  School.

Feb 15th there will be a “School Food Summit” at Rondout Valley High School with greats like : Ann Cooper, the Renegade Lunch Lady and Tim Cipriano the Local Food Dude and Todd Fowler, National Farm to School network and Julie Holbrook, Keene Valley Central… Slow Food, Rondout Valley Growers and more! All are welcome. Together we are making the difference in where our food comes from and what we eat.

Marty Rosen staff consultant for NOFA NJ will be calling in to get us excited about the upcoming NOFA NJ winter conference, where Eliot Coleman is headlining as the key note speaker.    But there is much more to the NOFA NJ conference then 1.5 hours of Coleman,  the author of The Holistic Orchard,  Michael Phillips will be on hand for 3 workshops including one full day workshop.  If you have an orchard or have thought about growing fruit trees using low impact environmentally friendly techniques,  you find your nose in one of Michael Phillips books, but thanks to NOFA NJ, you can meet him in person and take it from there…
